Rheingold ISTA D / BMW How to register a new DPF

A particle filter that has reached its theoretical limit at about 25,000 miles which meant a "Powertrain" error message. After passing the back pressure test i coded in a new filter and all error codes are fixed.

Error code 244800 is information that there is a limited distance left in the lifetime of your particle filter.
No warning messages and you don't need to do anything if you don't experience any problems with the car.

Error code 244900 means that the calculated mileage has been exceeded and it gives a warning message in the car's iDrive "Drivetrain"
Usually around 25,000 miles. Then you can do a back pressure test and based on that either simply reset the motor electronics or replace/clean the filter mechanically.
