530hp Model Y Performance v 565hp Fisker: DRAG RACE

It’s time for an all-American showdown!

We’ve got Mat in the Fisker Ocean, and he’s facing off against the Tesla Model Y Performance! The question is, can this new EV player perform against the class-leading Tesla?

Well, let’s check out the stats. Starting with the Fisker, it’s packing dual electric motors which combine to produce 565hp and 740Nm of torque. Naturally, for an electric car, it’s pretty heavy, tipping the scales at 2,434kg, and when it comes to price, it’ll set you back £62,000.

Then we come to the Tesla. Just like the Fisker, it’s equipped with two electric motors. However, in this instance it’s down on power compared to the Ocean, producing 527hp and 660Nm. But while it’s down on power, it’s also down on weight and price, coming in at 1,997kg and £60,000 respectively.

So how do you think this one will play out? Will the more powerful Fisker snatch it? Or will the lighter Tesla cruise to victory? There’s only one way to find out for sure… LET’S RACE!

Fisker knew they will be out of business by the time anyone reaches that 500 launch control limit. lol😂

That diagonally stuck Fisker screen is symbolic for the state of the company right now

California mode is for when you smoke a fat blunt in the car

I can’t believe Fisker is still lending these out to journalists with as many problems they have. It’s not a good look.

That delay off the line is a tribute to the Audi 7 speed DSG gearbox 👍🏻

I like to believe the diagonal screen is a part of California mode

Imagine the depreciation of that Fisker when the next buyer knows how many times the previous owner launched it

I tried Fisker, I loved it, but brakes had this weird feeling, like no resistance at all and then a lot suddenly. They still need to resolve some quirks (mostly with software), but car feels good for everything else.

The Fisker seems like a nice car, but I'd still take the car from the company that'll still be around at the end of the year...

I think the Model Y looks significantly better with those 21inch wheels and I don't say this because I picked up 2024 MYP myself last week and am in love with it.

I am satisfied with my Model Y Performance. It may not be the fastest compact SUV, but is by far the most efficient. I thought I would miss not having a front camera, but Teslavision's virtualized space around the vehicle is most impressive when in parking situations. (I think it is only available on the newest Teslas with no bumper sensors). Also the new FSD ver.12 is, hands-down, the best self-driving software suite deployed by any manufacturer. It is quite impressive.. only needing me to step on the accelerator at times when I bypassed coming to a complete stop at stop signs. It even sees small objects in the middle of the road and will react accordingly. I believe Mat tested this on a Model 3 over a year ago, and the older versions would not see anything smaller than a deer.

Reminder number 876 to carwow that track mode cools the battery for track use and slows the car down for drag racing. This is an 11.8 car when driven by someone competent.

Model Y has no Launch mode, Track mode actually makes them slower in the 1/4.
