In today’s video we will be discussing Menopause and exercise. At age 70, I can say that I’ve been through the fire (aka: hot flashes) and all the other challenges that menopause brings. But, exercise was the catalyst in helping the transition go more smoothly. I will be discussing the benefits of doing three specific exercises: (1) cardio (2) strength training & (3) resistance training. The aforementioned mentioned proved to be very helpful to me as I went through the Menopause Journey.

With cardio, if you are having issues with your knees, I recommend marching in place, swimming or walking as briskly as you possibly can. I remember when I was going through the change of life, the hot flashes were so intense that I thought they would never end. But by incorporating cardio, strength & resistance training into my fitness regimen, the symptoms were lessened and I was able to maintain a healthy body weight.

Going through Menopause is no walk in the park by any stretch of the imagination; but by putting up the “good fight,” and making the time for yourself to exercise, you will come out a WINNER.
