Video Recorded on July 3, 2021: To celebrate America's 245th birthday, I can't think of anything that is truly American made than this amazing, gorgeous piece of machinery! An old vintage manually controlled Otis elevator at the Buckstaff Bathhouse in Hot Springs, AR. I want to say a HUGE HUGE THANKS to the amazing staff for not only letting me ride and film this piece of beauty, but also to the operator for letting me control the elevator as well as helping me with the camera!!!! Look how well I did with the leveling. Other than that, I hope you enjoy this video and Happy Fourth Of July! :D Installed in 1912.

Very impressive. I’d never thought I’d see that in 2021.

This was awesome. Hot Springs seems to have a lot of history. They have a mountain tower.

I’ve been to hot springs before! I went to the bath house museum as well as the tower overlook. All were quite amazing. However, the bath house elevator was modernized and is now automatic. (Or at least the one I rode). An amazing find indeed! Happy Fourth of July weekend and I hope you are doing well.

A very nice vintage manually operated elevator. It is a basement traction or winding drum? The latter were more common during the era. It levels quite well starts/stops I did not hear an MG running however I am thinking it's a DC motor maybe a DC rectifier
