I Figured Out WHY Bethesda Got So GREEDY - Luke Stephens

Bethesda and their subsidiaries have grown excessively greedy over the last 3 years. Everything from the Creation Club to their steps into the mobile market shows that some sort of shift happened within the corporate mentality of ZeniMax Media. Something made them want to begin pursuing much more "aggressive" monetization practices. And so, I began researching this topic and I came across several interesting tidbits which I will discuss in this video. Enjoy.

"Let's make our company look good to potential investors!"
**Proceeds to have endless streams of controversy, PR disasters, and threats of class-action lawsuits that have been going on for literally a year, permanently and irreparably tarnishing the company's reputation**

_Yes, an excellent strategy_

The moment they announce Elder Scrolls 6 contains any sort of online store, live service, multiplayer, etc., I'm out. Elderscrolls will have died with Skyrim for me at that point. I refuse to spend a dime on any game that continues that shit. Destroying the game industry should not be rewarded by us who love games.

I've seen this before: Take a stable, well-performing company with happy employees, happy customers, and great products. It goes public, and it all goes to shit. You're left with unhappy customers, unhappy employees, and crap products.

"We need to look as appealing as possible to investors." (Makes games that garner so much criticism that even people who don't follow games would hear about it.)

To describe robert altman as having “a history in the banking industry” is quite a nice way of describing literally being banned from banking for corruption

In an attempt increase the value of the brand, they ruined the value of the brand.

Ironic.

Which means that I might not be buying their games for much longer.

At this point, I’ve lost faith in Bethesda.

CD Project Red holds the torch now.
