Yes i did. Had this exact one, I gave mine to a Brother though. One thing you missed. There is a Velcro admin pocket in the outer pocket and it also has button snaps to snap in a bandolier.

Awesome pack. One of my favorites for quick overnighters

There are several versions of this; judging by the "frame" sheet, this is the second one. There were external differences as well. I was in one of the units that evaluated these in the late 90s-early 2000s. The major disadvantage I recall is that for wearing with LBE, the shoulder straps rode far too high no matter what. Load the pack too bottom heavy and it would generate momentum-- you'd have your Kevlar knocked forward if the pack bounced unexpectedly. Lovely times!

The four tabs on the bottom are to attach the molle waist pack, there is room in the waist pack for a poncho and a poncho liner, yes the waist packs are far bigger than they look.

1:37 There is a flat pocket with a Velcro flap in that pouch. It's on the side closest to the person wearing it.

Free man camouflage like that one are $75-$300 now. Great little pack. I have two. One brand new, one in use. Same with the assault pack versions. I have three complete woodland rucksacks too, one band new. I have buckle replacements and plenty of radio pouches to use as material to repair these packs for decades. It's something im hopeful my sons grandson's will own and maintain. If you take care of this stuff it's extremely durable.

Great video!I have this pack and i love it, it's even better with the molle 2 waist pack so it takes the weight off your shoulders.

It’s my go to bag and I have had mine for a little over 2 years, it’s holding up great!
One of my favorites I’ve purchased in many years.

Fun Fact- The woodland Molle II waistpack (Google 'Molle II Waistpack') fits on the bottom of the patrol pack giving you another large pouch and adds a waist belt to go along with the shoulder straps.

There is a velcro closed pocket located inside the external draw cord pouch.

I have this pack, got it with the MOLLE II, it is an ok pack. One thing you didn't mention is a small flat compartment inside the back pocket, the one that flap with velcro (1:38).

I've had one of these packs for years, and it's hard to beat. My dog (RIP Roscoe) decided to chew on the handle one day and it's barely hanging on lol! Note: the dog didn't die because of this: he was put down some years later due to cancer, arthritis, etc. He was almost 14 years old and I miss the pup every day. I digress.
I found it while working, and kept it know, military surplus had it long enough to wear the NSN tag off on the inside of the pack. It did say "3 Day Patrol Pack", I remember that much. Anyway, it is as you described. Great pack and takes punishment. BTW the dog happened to chew on the teeth of the zipper as well, so the zipper stops at a certain spot, so that's where both zips go when closed. It's my constant companion at work and it's great. It needs a bath. But it's a beast and takes some serious abuse, as it was designed.
Well done on the review. Comprehensive and thorough. Keep up the good work, sir.

I've got one of the first actual Molle I patrol packs. Grab handle is single layer webbing, top cinch straps aren't complete (only half buckle to connect to main ruck), no hydration hose flap, no jump straps, and the card holder is in the center of the back. I've seen less of them than I have of the Molle II that you show. I still haven't hiked mine yet but if you are judicious with gear and organizing you'll be surprised by how much gear you can fit in them.

Gonna get out soon and hump this one for he summer and then rig up my Gregory UM21 patrol pack (The one everyone hates because its small and heavy for a patrol pack) for the winter. I think I can make that pack work and its suspension system seems super comfortable to me even if the pack itself is a bit heavy.
