This accident was actually a good thing, it shows we aren't ready.

"You did, Sir."

This showed 2 things.
1: no one is prepared as many tired to flee and got stuck in traffic and others just did nothing
2: there needs to be more fail safes in place for false alarms and warning systems in general to stop hysteria

Being a hawaiian resident myself, this was stinking scary! Me and my family got into the car to go to s shelter but turns out there is no open shelters so we just had to hide in our bathroom. Scary day

Actually, we now know that the guy who hit the "wrong button" didn't think he made a mistake. He actually thought it was a real attack because he was told "this is not a drill".

Call me a conspiracist, but I think it was a test to see how the public reacts and what problems needs to be adressed in case of the real thing.

As a Hawaiian I forgot this happened because 2020 is such a bad year I remember that day it was such a chaotic morning

This was a very unsettling and scary thing to wake up to, but when the emergency sirens didn’t sound, I knew it had to be a false alarm - so my fear didn’t last long.

5500 people called 911? What are the cops going to do? Shoot it?

Yet, no emergency alarms went off for the Maui fire.
