I'm baptist and went to a first Baptist in my area when I lived with my parents and they'd always do mission trips to like south America and Africa and I'd always say why don't we do stuff like that here we have plenty of ppl down on their luck or haven't heard the word of God

I’ve now been going to my new ELCA church in Chicago for a while, and I really like it. As a theological moderate, I don’t have an inherent problem with theological liberalism (e.g., not teaching Genesis as literal). What bothers me is the ELCA leadership’s overt CULTURAL liberalism and treating the SJW stuff as the most important. My congregation can afford to get more conservative, but thankfully it’s not like that at all. It’s also beautiful and very active in our community helping others. Glad my wife and I have added two more young members!
