7:42 A little correction on Devshirme system, Ottomans didn't continue the system for 500 years. They started it by 1412 and the system was stopped in 1648. That is about 250 years and the janissaries were their strongest when they were chosen from Devshirme system. After 1648 most of the Janissary core were Turkmens. By 1826, the whole Janissary system was abolished after the Sultan bombarded their headquarters because they were a nuisance.
