While L.A. Park was very successful in the US, La Parka (the second one) became extremely popular in Mexico. He was like the John Cena of Mexican wrestling. Extremely charismatic and always fun to watch. I actually didn't found out about the original one after years later.

Rip La Parka

La Parka was like the John Cena of AAA, he was the face of the company for almost 2 decades. R.I.P. 💀

To clear up the confusion; La Parka from WCW is currently alive and goes under the name L.A. Park, it was the second La Parka that passed away.

"... Just to entertain us."
A well-handled message and a tasteful, informative rundown of La Parka. Thanks for having some class, Man.

La Parka is still the Cruiserweight Champion on my copy of WCW/nWo Revenge.

Remembered him in AAA during around the late 2000s early 2010s along with Octagon, psycho circus, abismo negro, cibernetico, masias, Halloween, and many of the greats at the time. He really was a big part of my childhood growing up may he rest in paradise🙏🏼

I used to watch him as a kid in Mexico, he always stuck with me even though the rest of the luchadores never did. He was always entertaining to watch

As someone who actually attempted to an pro wrestling org... its NOT fake!

Its scripted, there's a difference.

Its really 300lb bodybuilding athletes that are flying through the air and body slamming for real

The La Parka that died was never in WCW. That was L.A. Park. The original La Parka.

Nice work. I really enjoyed watching this. I never knew that the second LA Parka passed away. Nice job providing the overall backstory on this.

The deaths of any wrestler are always tragic. For me, wrestling wasn't the same after the deaths of Owen Hart and Eddie Guerrero. ;_; La Parka's death was hard, especially since he was my fave luchadore. I've always respected wrestlers, one of my teacher's college buddies was a jobber, he got to practice with ultimate warrior. My teacher also told me that wrestling is "fake" in that the matches are predetermined but real in that what they put themselves through is dangerous. v_v

As a Hispanic, I was a major fan of La Parka. I enjoyed watching him back in CMLL and AAA and I've known Jesus a Lil more since I have an authentic mask back when I visited Mexico

After hearing he died, I was hurt to hear that and just couldn't think for a day or two...his death hurt just as much as Eddie's

for those that are commenting thinking didn't know he died remember that he is talking about 2 people with that name, the one that was used in WCW didn't die it was the originator. To this day the one we saw in WCW goes by L.A. Park

Damn. I had no idea he died. He was one of my favorites in the 90s. Those WCW Cruiserweight matches were the best. I think Pro Wrestling is like an art form. They're trying to put on great matches without seriously hurting each other. It takes a lot of training and skill to do that.

As a professional wrestler myself I can honestly say is true what we do is life-changing and life risking it is physical and mental I agree completely that the industry as a whole deserves more respect

Lucha Libre in Mexico is more real than a movie with The Rock in it 😂

Huge void left behind. He was AAA and contrary to what most might think, he did the character of La Parka, justice. R.I.P. mi Parka, hasta luego.

LA PARKA (the original one) is still alive, that one was in WCW
LA PARKA (the 2nd one that replaced the original) died, he was the face of AAA
