The "real reason" almost everyone died was because some genius thought it would be a good idea to put a concrete barrier at the end of the runway. The South Korean government should be looking at that as well.

PILOT TRAINING is what needs to be addressed for sure and definitely pilot evaluation. Also the presence of FDM does not help especially to low confidence crews

probably the pilot turned off the wrong engine after the 'bird strike' means the plane was landing with zero engine running being one engine on fire after a bird struck and the other engine turned off..means hydraulics to bring down the landing wheels were next to impossible and the spoilers not raised means the plane is not pushed to the ground to help in stopping and no reverse engine thrust deployed. May the victims in this tragic accident rest in peace.
