South Korea plane crash: Data extracted from first Jeju Air black box

South Korea's transport ministry said investigators have extracted data from the cockpit voice recorder of a plane that fatally crashed on Sunday and will convert it into an audio file, hopefully offering critical information to try to explain the few minutes that led up to the crash.

Meanwhile, South Korea's acting President Choi Sang-mok said immediate action must be taken if a special inspection of all Boeing 737-800 aircraft operated in the country finds any issues as authorities ramp up a probe into the deadly air crash.

All 175 passengers and four of six crew were killed on Sunday when the Jeju Air jet belly-landed at Muan International Airport in the country's southwest and slammed into a sand-and-concrete embankment at the end of the runway, where it burst into flames.

My condolences to all who lost their precious loved ones.

Don't need a black box to tell me planes and concrete walls don't mix.

Why report on nothing? This video is a sign of bad journalism.

The total length of the Muan Airport runway is 2800m, and the plane landed at 1200m. The remaining distance was not enough for the Boeing 737 to stop. The pilot made a sharp turn and descended because he could not supply power to the engine after the bird strike. In addition, there are many awkward points in the interview with the person who filmed the accident video, and the high level of the video filming technology is raising doubts.

*The tragic plane crash of Jeju Air (South Korea) should be included in pilot training curriculum. Why didn't the captain ask air traffic control for permission to land the plane in the second time "by belly landing"?*

Why was there a reinforced concrete structure within a berm at the end of the runway, no sand traps also??? total negligent .... even aviation experts asks this....

in other word, you still don't have any information.
Thanks for your video on nothing.

As an Engineer I tell you this. Plane is calculated to land with almost empty tank due to plane to be able to stop in short distance.

If you know physics math, more mass it takes longer to stop like truck.

So one reason can be overfilling of Gas.

I feel this could be one

Don't trust what the ministry promises. I've been in aviation for quite sometime and I dare say Korean aviation is still lagging whereas many other countries are clearly improving

A nation plagued... threat of bird strike...ascend to whatever altitude and take forty minutes and be late landing safely..such a tragedy... obviously not caused by birds alone

Why was it sent to the USA because it was a Boeing 737?

00:33 The Korean man in green in the video is the acting prime minister - Choi sang mok - of South Korea. He has supported the Democratic Party that impeached the current president, Yoon Seok-yeol, and has been accused of abusing his power by appointing an illegal constitutional judge. He is now accused of being the worst traitor in South Korea.

Censoring the video doesn't hide the reality of it. The world is too soft. You're not honoring anyone by not showing it. Those 179 people don't exist anymore. If their families don't want to see it, don't watch videos about it.

Whatever the CVR will tell us, or FDR, everything what happened before crash is not deadly at all. Main question here is who put that concrete barrier at the end of the runway, when they will remove it and how to make sure that such kind of wall is not found also on some other airports?

Smoke was obvious in the video from both engines. The number 2 engine was restarted. Birds were injected into both engines.
