I totally agree with your points you mention. A overhaul of nearly all sound effects would be really nice and i wish they would add terraforming to SE. That would extend the possibilities to plant food and water to the base game

Elysium has been eating Space Engineers lunch when it comes to survival staples like bodily needs and hostile entities since the beginning. But even so if there's a gripe with Space engineers it's likely there's a mod for that. All Keen needs to do is produce a solid platform as a sequel and we can do the rest. But an endgame for survival would be good though.

No, do not build for Latest DirectX. DirectX12 CPU binds rendering and even has a very bad habit of limiting the frame generation for the GPU to process.
It results in lower frame-rate and has a habit of causing bad performance. If you're gonna develop for an API like that on Latest tech, please for the love of god Vulkan.
