How to 'Hack' Home Depot Tool Deals

Показать описание
Here are a few ways to get a good deal on some sale items from Home Depot. This is often referred to as "hacking" a Home Depot sale, although you're simply returning something that you don't want. Nothing is free. This will only work on deals that have an itemized price in the cart or on the receipt. If a tool or battery is bundled in a deal and is all one price on the receipt, this will not work.

Method 4: Choose two different Home Depot locations for pickup.

Use the text customer service feature on the website, cancel the unwanted item. Then go pick up the tool at the prorated discount…or “hack”.

Took two minutes, no human interaction when using the text feature. I even double checked my order status and the batteries were cancelled as requested. Very easy, much smoother, and much faster👍

My M12 battery wasn’t itemized on the receipt and I couldn’t return for a refund or for store credit even though they sell the battery.

Doing the online cancel doesn't always work, even if you do it within the first 45 seconds. If it is a 3rd party vendor/shipper, then it is typically not able to be canceled, even if you call. Some times it does allow you to cancel, but you typically need to cancel the entire order.

Can you do this in store with cash? Just go in the next day return the item you don’t want?

What if you buy the M12 screw driver and ratchet and only want to keep the screwdriver and they are packaged together.

You can also walk in and buy the tool and batteries and then just carry them over to the return desk immediately after and do the whoke process in 5 minutes. If its an online only deal, go pick the items off the shelf yourself, then purchase them online and choose pick up in store. Then just carry the tool n batteries to the service desk and tell them your order # and that yiu picked the items off the shelr yourself becahse u wanted the deal and found out its online only. Then tell them u want to return the batteries. Some cashiers may have an attitude about it. Others think its great you found a good deal. Ive dealt with both using this method

Beware, I have gone through plenty of purchases with HD. Sometimes in order to complete the return you will be required to return all items from the order. In my case not "Hacking" so much as genuinely not wanting one of the included promotional items.

If I want to avoid all human contact can I just ship the tool back and expect a refund to my card?

One reason why they will stop doing deals like this.

This is something you should not do often. You will get black listed by Home Depot as a frequent returner. If your going to abuse the system don't use your debit or any card...pay w/cash. HD tracks all your purchases and returns when a card is used. This is something most all youtube'er don't tell you when you do the "HACK"

Wow, better be careful about that! You can get blacklisted for that. If you're a good human, you'd just sell the item you don't want instead of fooling the system. That's pretty fraudulent. Karma, just sayin'!
