Mount Gilboa is located in the Lower Galilee region, South of the Sea of Galilee Israel in the Middle East.
Gilboa is a Hebrew name meaning boiling springs, agitated pools or water bursting from the rock.
Mount Gilboa or Har HaGilboa as it's known in Hebrew , is a mountain range overlooking the Jezreel Valley or Valley of Megiddo.
In the Hebrew bible or the Old testament, Mount Gilboa is where the first King of Israel, King Saul , led a charge against the Philistines whereby the battle ended by Saul's three sons killed and King Saul committing suicide by falling on his sword. 1Samuel 31
Overlooking from Mount Gilboa is Jezreel Valley or Emeq Yisrael also known as the Valley of Megiddo which is a fertile plain in the Northern district of Israel by the Lower Galilee Region.
According to the Old testament, the valley was a scene of victory by the Israelites led by Gideon against the Midianites, Amalekites and Children of East as recorded in Judges 6 but a battle later by Israelites and Philistines led by King Saul defeated. 1 Samuel 29
In the New testament Revelation 16:14-16, the battle of Armageddon
2 Chronicles 35:20 -25 at the Valley of Megiddo Egyptian Pharaoh Neco killed King Josiah who was the sixteenth king of Judah.
