Most people misunderstood heather on reviews that call her annoying. The camera was a comfort to her. Taping everything was what kept her sanity. The camera was like a friend in her fear and I totally got that. Making a plan is also what kept her mind clear no matter how crazy it sounded.

Were the conditions arguable a bit inhumane and definitely not something that would fly today? Yes. Did it still result in a great movie and one of the highest-profiting movies of all time? Also yes.

The "found footage" style was also revolutionary for the time, as was the viral marketing campaign they used, in a time before viral marketing was even really a thing. So does this movie still deserve it's praise, even after all these years? Abso-fvcking-lutely!

I highly suggest anyone who is a gamer should play the Game Blaire Witch. specially if you like the silent hill sequels.the game has hidden detailed descriptions of what the Blair witch was and how she became a witch.not to mention the customizable police dog wich reminded me of Dog Meat from fallout 4😊

I’ll never understand why the actress was nominated a Razzie for her performance. The scene where she confesses her guilt over what happened was so realistic and almost sad. You could see it in her eyes, she knew that the Blair Witch had caught them and very soon she and her friend will never the see the sight of civilisation ever again

Everyone knows this but when this first came out it was marketed as being real so when me and 2 of my guy friends went to see it in theaters I literally walked out of it shaking so hard!! In the back of my mind I knew it had to be fake cuz I was like there’s no way their families would have agreed to let this come out for everyone to see but even then I was scared sh*tless!! But after knowing it was all fake-the chick was in a Steak-n-Shake commercial lol-it still was a great movie in my mind. They had NO idea what was going to happen to them and they were FANTASTIC!! I heard that they were all asleep and the people woke the blonde hair dude up and told him to come with them (was he Josh??) and the other 2 woke up and had NO idea where he was!! And the kids banging on the tent scene was planned without the characters knowing about it too!! It’s crazy to think about how they agreed with everything so that they could make this movie but they did one hell of a job!!!! I’ve ALWAYS loved this movie and this started my obsession with the found footage horror movies. If they’re done right they’re absolutely amazing!!

Seems odd now but back then I was scared shitless seeing this in theatres.
Not because of the goofy "found footage is real" PR, nobody believed that.
But the movie and this new genre just worked, and the actors were damn near perfect - also thanks to the pretty mean things the directors did to them.
I still believe that no other FF movie comes even close.
