If you love a forest setting, I think you should give the Sevenwaters series a try! The first book Daughter of the Forest was probably my favorite read of 2024. I think about it all the time. It was recommended to me as fantasy romance, but I would definitely classify it as historical fantasy. There is a romance, but it's not at all the main focus of the story. (Trigger warning for a pretty graphic SA scene in the first half of the book.)

The forest Kings daughter and Emily Wilde’s third book so excited!

5:20 - I've once heard someone saying that Holly Black writes faeries from folklore and SJM writes faeries from fantasy, and, from what I've seen of the fanarts of her works, that might be true, so that description doesn't really say much.

Can’t wait for Emily Wilde’s release. Thanks for great recommendations.

I’m tired of fae. Taking a break from those books for a bit.

Thanks to your recommendations I am currently reading The Justice of Kings. I am really enjoying this story & am looking forward to Grave Empire!

Agreed on fantasy romance being marketed as fantasy and vice versa. That can actually be a little bit annoying.

Solid picks here though. Looking forward to reading some of these!

I had an advanced copy of Greenteeth and loved it! It was cozy but medium stakes and I had so much fun with all the characters on the quests. I already pre-ordered a physical copy.

The Last Days of Good People sounds amazing - and gave me a bunch of Star Trek vibes!

I picked up Faebound this week to try and catch up prior to Cursebound. I'm not really one for "oooh, gorgeous Fae" so I was so so hesitant but basically my husband picked it up for me off the shelf so I felt obliged. I'm nearly halfway through already and it's honestly surprised me SO much! The synopsis on the back doesn't do a great job of selling the book either. But there's great world building, intrigue, politics, creatures, and the plot moves along well, good characters. Honestly having a great time with it (so far)!

These videos are very helpful (not for my purse or the unending tbr) but thanks 🥰

Thank you Elliot! I just put a hold for Green Teeth on my library app. Was surprised that Grave Empire was not purchased yet. 😥. Love the sleepy Luna pic! So cute!!!

All of these sound better than what these book boxes have picked! Owl crate is going with “the Wooing of the Witch Queen” which makes me shutter just looking at the cover and reading the title. If they have to pick Fantasy Romance, the forest king’s daughter sounds so much better! I am most intrigued by the timekeepers and if I could pick one that’s the one I would pick

Couldn't agree more about the audio book for Emily Wildes adding to the story!

Those are kinda my favorite videos, highlighting new book releases is always more interesting to me than talking about (especially the well-known) books for the umpteenth time.
