Yes! Anna-Marie McLemore is currently occupying at least 2 slots on my "most MOST anticipated 2022 releases" list and I am so happy about it 🥰

Not too many books I’m interested in so far for next year (too many retellings). But that just means I can try and catch up on my TBR. 😆

That cover for the Wuthering Heights retelling is lovely. I love that there are more retellings/remixes of classics with people of colour. There's also been some suggestion that Heathcliff was Irish. The Irish back then were viewed similarly to how people of colour have been viewed. People used to call the Irish the Blacks of Europe, and, until relatively recently (1960s or thereabouts), British businesses would have signs in their shops that read 'No dogs, no Blacks, no Irish'. I find it interesting how Brontë could have been aware of that attitude to Irish people, though her father was Irish, so it's interesting also that there might have been some of him in Heathcliff.

Ah so many good ones! I preordered Gallant as well. I attended a virtual event where she spoke about it and she described it as not a fairytale but a death tale and I knew I needed to read it!

I don’t actually have many YA books on my radar for next year, but Violet Made of Thorns by Gina Chen is probably the one that interested me the most that you didn’t mention

I like me some YA because I’m not a huge fussy reader. If I was, I still think the covers would get me every time.

I’m not a huge fan of fantasy, but I’m going to check out Gallant. For fans for Neil Gaiman has me interested since I like what I’ve read of his, plus that it’s a standalone
