Monotheism, substitute, millennium and Oneness are but a few other words not found in Scripture either. Aquinas stated:
“If we could speak of God only in the very terms themselves of Scripture, it would follow that no one could speak of God in any but the original language of the Old or New Testament. The urgency of conducting heretics made it necessary to find new words to express the ancient faith about God.”.

I think Martin Luther was basically saying to just call The Trinity "God" in order to avoid confusion. He didn't reject the Trinity.

Triune God is not in the Bible. Tri means three. 1+1+1=3

You know what's really interesting is Luther sure didn't agree with Svengly and Calvin on much but I guess he agreed about the doctrine of the trinity and they agreed that we don't have free will! Luther wrote a book in response to Erasmus with 300 verses opposing the doctrine of free will and I'm pretty sure Calvin and Svengli were in agreement. Myself, I like to think we have some kind of free will to call out to God, but we can't save ourselves. Godbless you Pastor Steve! Keep up the great videos!
