I live in Scotland whose whole culture is steeped in Calvinism, because of the Scottish Reformation. A close American friend once explained to me he is now a Calvinist. Then he asked me if I knew what Calvinism is? I replied, 'You obviously don't, if you ask me that question!.'

By the way Calvinism is not the Gospel... the Gospel came first! Calvinism is one way to express the Gospel!

My name is Kalvin. This speaks to me in a way I can not explain. You might describe me now, the same as he was described to look like.

I was going through some stuff in storage and came across my old family ancestry packet that my family gave to each of us. I noticed something about the “Huguenots” and began doing some online research, and what I found is shocking! My ancestry ties back to the Huguenots, a group of Protestants who followed the teachings of theologian John Calvin. After facing persecution in France, they fled to America, settling in North Carolina

How sad, he goes down in history as one of the greatest perverters of scripture, the image of God and the Gospel. In all his writings, he gave not 1 chapter to expound the LOVE God.
He believed in the death penalty for heresy.
No murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
Again, how sad, and yet he is exalted as some great one.

Calvin was not a loving, caring, forgiving man. All one has to do is look at what he did to Michael Servetus, whom he murdered for different theological views on the trinity and baby baptism. It was Michael Servetus teaching against the trinity that go him burned at the stake. Both Luther and Calvin embraced the murderous lynching laws to murder those who did not embrace their teachings. Calvin never repented of this murder of Servetus, and neither has Luther. These were men who forgot what Jesus said "love your enemies..." Neither did that, rather they destroyed lives of those who challenged their teachings; they never let go of the same persecuting spirit of the Roman and Orthodox churches.

Luther was German and Jean Calvin was French.
The Huguenots *helped spreading protestantism ideas in the West. Interestingly, there are very few protestants nowadays in France. Whatever happened.
