As a Plumber I use these all the time in residential settings. No need for 18v stuff unless your doing commercial.

I have alot of m12 tools as a tractor mechanic, the 3/8 impact gun, 1/4 inpact driver, drill, soldering iron, disc cutter, dremel, torch and reciprocating saw... incredible tools. Much better than the 18v makita equivalent

The M12 series tools are all pretty solid.

I use a strange combo of the M12 Surge impact with the M18 Fuel Gen 3 Hammer Drill. Works great with the right bit even for harder materials like slab concrete. Obviously there's a point where it just makes more sense to bust out the SDS but there is definitely plenty of applications where the M18 or M12 hammer drill is plenty of power. Even the impact with a good bit works well for brick/block

To keep the dust on the ground to a minimum i suggets painters tape and an envelope. Sure theres still dust but most of it is kept in the envelope.

I can attest to the power of these little guys. I can see why you recommend use only for softer materials, but tbh I was using it to drill into solid concrete, does it like a champ.

Started out really solid now it gets hot quick and shuts down

A lot of people don’t know u get more current from the m12 over m18, higher watts are being supplied to the tool.

U reckon this and an impact would be decent for starting off with just installing lights and shit like that

These are little beasts. I use mine for everything. It’s currently being used to mix mud. Still going strong.

Just use Bosch blue bits and no hammer or you'll round the end off. Way quicker if you aren't getting the SDS out

I've installed floor sensors for an alarm using a M12 and some tapcons. It works fine for little stufff.

That's kinda weird in US my milwaukee sds 1" hammer drill barely goes threw brick? Only run it into the joints

Real question how often do people use the m12 hammer drill over the m18, idk I just feel like might as well just care the m18 but with a small battery or do people like the weight difference

use MFDS drill bits from wurth, and you will NOT need the hammer function.out houses here are build propertly, from concrete-bricks etc etc, and NOT from wood.
