Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow hit the stage in Texas 1982 featuring Joe Lynn Turner and Bobby Rondinelli to perform 'All Night Long". It's great to hear this rockier, even dare we say it, more commercial version with backing singers Lyn and Dee!

Dio was the only singer you'd take your eyes off Blackmore for... everyone else, although good singers, lacked the presence to compete with Ritchie for stage presence. Cozy was another one to watch! RIP Powell, Dio and Lord🙏

I got in trouble when I was 10 for ruining my brother's copy of DP's "Made In Japan" album, by repeatedly playing it on my kiddie turntable.
It opened a world of music that was not being represented on my parent's stereo downstairs.
It was at that point I no longer wanted to be an astronaut when I grew up. I wanted to be Blackmore

Barking mad, enigmatic, staggeringly gifted and fickle and difficult to work with. Yet, to my mind one of the most influential players of the rock era. Some may have played with more feel, but the thing about Blackmore is that you never knew what the mad bastard was going to do next. Definitely age and arthritis have taken their toll, but the memories we have of him at his peak are ireplaceable.
