idk if i would call Quaritch a "villian" now. by the virtue of making scenes where he the "main character" it kinda blurs the lines between pro and an tagonist.

we even end up seeing him doing some rather anti-hero actions such as sparing Metkyena lives but still burning what can be rebuilt in due time, or saving Spider from the science pukes and Neytiri (and also listening to his opinions and aknowledging him).

its subtle but this Quaritch isn't static character unlike his last life.


but other than that i agree. assuming the first movie was a thesis statement, this movie was the first bullet point: demonstrating the power and tactics each faction has while building up the conflict.
