My first visit to Singapore, it was 50th year anniversary. I was surprised that this country was very young. I brought a book about Lee Kuan Yew, his vision and roadmap. I would like my leader to learn from Singapore. So we can improve people's quality of life and exploit natural resources.

If China continues to be humble, peaceful and open-minded by seeking dialogues and views from others like this, China will eventually win, not just any trade war but also hearts and minds of people around the world! I could not agree more with the interviewed lady that the US will have a lot to lose in this trade war.

For those who doesn't see the flaw of the Democracy system. First, you got to ask : Why the Colonizers care so much about their colonies to have a Democratic ruling system ? Do the Conquerer really rule their people with a Democratic policy ? If anyone that have an average IQ would suddenly realized when these questions arise . Democracy is a Governing Doctrine system that was designed pacifically for a state or country that has been inducted into a conform alliance or a tribute region . Democracy is the easiest system to minupulate, Corrupt and infiltrate in any country . Just take a look at India for example. After all these years of independent, how far did India go ? India and China were in the same level of poverty 3 decades ago. What happened to India? Now, look at Philippines, Philippines isn't exactly what you call Western Democracy neither, so Philippines grow . India is very Corrupt and deeply influence by its former Colonizer... Democracy at best !

Mr Lee Kuan Yew and his team were highly educated in some of the most prestigious and elite universities in the world. They saw firsthand the workings of the western democracy and decided that it was not the way for Singapore.
Hence, they decided from the outset, the Singapore system will be a social-democracy system where society takes precedence over the individual.
His government looked at the big picture and provided all the possible means, venues and resources for the good of the whole society. It is up to the individual to develop and grow within that environment. In this regard, no government anywhere in the world has done better and/or faster than Singapore.
Social engineering is highly practiced as a norm that produces tangible benefits to the society as a whole and to the individual.

Westerners are still obsessed with “democracy” and are unwilling to see that
unchecked and bloated individualism and civil liberties - which are touted as democracy - is ruining western societies.
The prime example is USA where over-emphasis on individual freedom has led to all the societal problems and malaises. The authorities are shackled and toothless and elected officials place individual and/or party interest above national interest.

Do you know both Lee Kuan Yew and Deng Xiao Ping are both Hakkas though the former calling the latter a Mandarin?

What is wrong with one-party rule if the party is democratically elected by the people? If the people of Singapore thinks that the government is not up to scratch the party would very well have lost the election.
Also we did not ask China or any countries to learn from us in the first place. Our both countries socioeconomic landscapes are different, , Singapore experience is applicable to China but not necessarily the other way round.
In terms of things which Singapore are still ahead of our friend I think there are quite a few eg. education system, fighting corruption, urbanisation, finance & fintech and rule of law etc.
