The Olight also has a timed light that will stay on for either 3 minutes or 9 minutes and then turn off. That might not sound useful, but it can be. If you are camping with your family, and you want to light the tent or trailer while everyone gets in their sleeping bags, but you don't want to get up to turn it off, just set it for 3 minutes.

Ive been using the arkfeld pro as my primary light for about 2 months now. Im a pest control tech and every function has use. I got NW for true color, the clip doubles it as a head lamp, good magnetic base, the uv for rodent urine detection, the laser for pointing to structural deficiencies.
Even used the laser to scare birds from nesting sites in warehouse rafters.
If any light can do all of this better, please let me know...

After watching this, the Olight Arkfeld is clearly the one for me. I can't see spending more and getting less. Thanks for putting them up side-by-side for this review.

The extra boost is great but… I just used my Arkfekd pro in candle mode (tail stand and moonlight) during the WE, 2 things I wouldn’t have been able to do with the Nitecore. I’ll keep the Olight, no regret.

You can also put the light on when using the laser on the arkfeld, when the laser is on, double click the button and the light comes on, then you can cycle the light modes by holding down the button, all while the laser is on, I think olight has some of the best lights on the market, with quality and performance, Imo 👍👍👍

I have the EDC27 UHI (updated edc27) and I absolutely love it. Serves my needs better over the Arkfeld. I love the dual tail switches and that it doesn't have a deep carry clip. I like to have the bit sticking out of my pocket for quick easy grabbing. Also, like that it charges usbc.

I have bought olights in the past and have always had issues with them, from poor battery performance to led’s flickering. However I gave them one more chnce with the arkfeld pro, simply because there is nothing else like it on the market. I’ve had it for a week now and carry it every day, I just hope it outlasts all my previous olight purchases.

I could not understand what you did not like with the rubber latch that covers the charging port of the EDC27. You yourself said it is not easily opened, but if you do need to charge, it opens. Any tighter that that and it would be annoying to open. And you said it's a major concern?

I have both, I’d take the Arkfeld Pro for the win. I’m happy with 1400 lumens, UV, and Laser.

I have both. The Olight for about a month and the Nitecore for 2 days. Indoors the 1300lm from the Arkfeld and the 1000lm from the EDC27 are very close in both beam pattern and noticeable intensity by the naked eye. Going outside it becomes apparent that the EDC27 is both slightly brighter at distance with a slightly wider beam pattern. Also the EDC27 reaches a stable temp at 1000lm, not too hot to hold and maintains the 1000lm past 5 minutes and 30 seconds, at that point I turned the EDC27 off as it was not getting any hotter and had outlasted the Arkfeld's 1300lm. In Short, judging only by this comparison and not considering any other features or points that you brought up. I agree wholeheartedly, the EDC27 is a better EDC light, based only on the white LED output.

I have the EDC27 and the Arkfeld UV (Pro wasn't available). The killer for me on the 27 is the button. Its just not that good. It has a vague semi-clicky feel to it. Unless you press it at the right angle...it will not come on. Sometimes it'll take two clicks to turn on the light. I'm technically on my third EDC27. The first one I was able to exchange within Amazons time period...but a few weeks ago...the button went mushy. The clicks were gone and the switch was not consistently working. To Nitecore's credit...they were able to fix my light in a very reasonable amount of time. The other thing I'm not too fond of is how much the light sticks out of the pocket. The end protrudes really far out of the pocket. I can probably see why Nightcore did it. Since this is a "tactical" style light...it needs to be easy to deploy...especially with gloves. I think as a daily carry...the Arkfeld has a better form factor and fits in my pocket better than the EDC27. I hope Nightcore comes out with a V2 of the EDC27 and fix the way the power button functions...also hopefully have a deep carry clip. The clip is what Olight got right with the UV and Pro. They listened to their customer's and came out with a deep carry clip.

I have both and love them both. The only thing i don't like is having to constantly flip the EDC27 back and forth in my hand when trying to use it. It's kind of a hassle. The only reason for the thumb buttons on the bottom like that is for quick access while your flashlight is in your offhand while using a firearm. How many times are you going to be in that situation? Maybe once in your life unless your law enforcement. For standard use, walking around, working on things, the Olight is better suited. because its easier to use. Your also comparing a 1300L to a 3000L so yes, one is brighter.

Just saw this video on my youtube. I do have the Nitecore EDC27. 3 issues: 1. a number of people have complained the lens is plastic and has deformed. Solution? STOP RUNNING THE LIGHT REPEATEDLY ON TURBO. If you want a 3000 lumen light, then BUY a 3000 lumen. 2. The switch for the EDC27 needs work. Every so often, it will not activate, and then after a 2nd press, the light is locked out. That's annoying. 3. The lockout procedure needs to be changed, in my humble opinion. I love the form, the feel, weight, and size of this light, but due to the switch, it stays at home.

The Arkfeld Pro also has a pretty serious strobe mode with a triple press! I've had mine for a little over a week and I love it so far. These two lights are not really comparable as they serve different purposes... Every Nitecore I've owned, regardless of output, pales in comparison to the design and brand/customer support with OLight

One of these flashlights, I can stick in my blazer's front shirt pocket and whip out for the 3R laser pointer at work. It looks at home in an office setting. The other doesn't have the looks or the functionality. ...One of these lights is my EDC.

When will you review the Nitecore EDC33?

I have been using the Nirecore for a while now and yes, the nitecore does kill it. The 1000 lumens is amazing and the 3k is nuts for the size. I took mine to Mt Macedon where there is zero light bleed ( total darkness ) the 200 lumens was more than adequate to light up the path. When i would hear a strange sound just mash the turbo button to get a wall of light.

Mine was sent to me by Nitecore for review and tbh, hadn't they of sent it i wouldn't have picking one up. Now if i lost it i would order a replacement the very next day.

Nice review mate.

My EDC for theater work is the Arkfeld Pro -- love it. The magnetic base is an added benefit. Oh, two is one and one is none -- my backup is an old, well worn, and still functioning Nitecore TIP2.

I quit carrying my edc25 because it's a pain to deal with the lock, but if I dont lock it my belt hits the button on the back and turns it on.
