A new generation of the SAAR Class - The "SAAR S-72" Corvette

The new design of the modern SAAR S-72 is available now.
This new generation of the famous SAAR class Fast Attack Mini Corvettes, is a larger vessel.

It is a multipurpose vessel at the length of 72 meter and full displacement of about 800 tons.

As the existing Naval vessels of Israel Shipyards, the new corvette will also reach the speed of above 30kn with an extended endurance.
The SAAR S - 72 can operate a medium size marine helicopter.
It also supports unique possibilities of utilizing Special Forces units.

The main improvements of the SAAR S - 72 include:
* Significant upgrade of the SAAR 4.5 combat capabilities
* Major improvement of signatures
* State-Of-The-Art weapon and electronic systems (can be tailor-made to customer specific requirements)
The SAAR S-72 is offered as a missile corvette or it can be proposed in an OPV version.

Great project, looks the Corvette name is underated, nor the SIGMA has such a low profile and stealth features, however is not suitable to upgrade our olds SAAR's from Chile that in fact need a replacement, those must be lighter, able to navigate in very shallow waters and within the narrow channels of the South of Chile.. beautiful vessel anyway..cheers!!

the Sa'ar 72 could really do with a 30 MM (8-barrel long) GAU-8/U rotary cannon positioned (bolted) on top of the 45 MM Oerlikon main gun in the foremost part of the bow section . . .

Saar's-72 is a 72 m. fast warships but with enough firepower to put down an enemy warships, but only downside is, it's lacking Anti-SAM's for aerial threat and Torpedos, and under water mines, for ASW capability, against attack submarines, if ever AFP of the Philippines would acquire one or several units, they should request for a multi-role Saar's-72 which has SAM's, SSM's, and ASW capabilities plus electronic warfare capability as well, and has Nuclear, Bio-chemical, weapons defense and offensive capabilities incase enemies use it against us.

This saar is will prepare corvette, small but loaded, but how about anti submarine weapon? Possible they haven't

Does it have anti submarine missile? I wish they also add automatic machine gun or grenade launcher for the rear for offence and defense purposes.
