The imposter is probably more so a narcissist then sociopath, narcissists will steal someone's entire personality, presentation, everything then try to get rid of "the original". Not as outright identity theft (copying could be to such a degree it might as well be) although commandeering a fairly-anonymous social media account doesn't feel too out there
