Hey professor,
I don't take your course nor am I a linguistics major, but I AM about to become a linguist in the air force. I've been stuck at home with nothing to do in the months succeeding my high school graduation aside from battle this ongoing enlistment process, but watching your lectures has helped me feel more prepared for this next chapter in my life. Thank you so very much, and you're an incredible teacher. You explain concepts as though you yourself remember being a beginner, which is a rare traight for many teachers to have. You have my sincerest gratitude.

Thank you Professor Futrell. I watched all you 26 lectures and I enjoyed them very much. Thank you! Your pronunciation of Mandarin words is so accurate that I assume that you can speak Mandarin. You mentioned that in classical Chinese, blue and green belonged to the same color category, which is very true. We even have the famous line from a poem "青出于蓝而胜于蓝", which literally means Indigo blue is extracted from the indigo plant, but is bluer than the plant it comes from and metaphorically means the student surpasses the master. In classical Chinese, 青means blue while nowadays 青means green.

Absolutely loved this course, I had linguistics in my 2nd Semester and the professor was incompetent he just taught us transcription in the name of linguistics which was really annoying when there was so much more to learn. So I really learned a lot from this course. Thank you Professor Futrell!!

Thanks a lot sir for making this.I have B.A. in English studies.I watched all your series. It was really helpful and interesting. As you know English studies, despite linguistics, also involved with ELT, literature and translation. I hope you to create videos on these modules one day as well.
