How I passed my Emergency Fellowship Exam in Australia

My Fellowship Exam preparation strategy
1. Believe in yourself
2. I did not waste time reading cover to cover books but read around the topics
3. Time yourself always from day one….exams are about timed study
4. I think my notes and flashcards really helped me have a focused revision in the last month leading to the written exam
5. For me early morning session like 0400am were good to get the bulk of study out and then I would spend rest of the day reading around my topics
6. For OSCE timed practice and really have a diverse experience from real patients, study buddies and multiple trial exams helped me a lot
7. Be open to criticism and feedback, always
8. Be sure to 8 hours of daily sleep and keep up a 30 mins per day of physical exercise
9. Weekends I would not touch books and go out and enjoy and breathe some fresh air that really helped boost the morale
10. On the day of my OSCE exam I felt comfortable and focused on each station scenarios as its own exam and helped me kept relax

About me:
My name is Rizwan Qureshi and I am an international medical graduate from Pakistan who initially migrated to UK after PLAB and then after MRCSEd and 3 years of training move and trained in Australia and now I am working and a Consultant in Emergency Medicine in Sydney Australia.

I believe given the right guidance, the AMC exams are very easy to pass. We have developed proactive role play approach for all our AMC and Orientation Courses and workshop and want to make the journey for all exams and job hunt easy for IMGs.

My other videos are about my journey as an IMG. Also I like to share interesting Emergency Medicine cases and guidance videos for doctors who are planning to move from their home country to Western Countries for training and settling here permanently. I believe most IMGs face similar hardship and we can all learn from each other with sharing and respect
