Cops today are almost all exemplary graduates of the GESTAPO, KGB, & STASSI School of Policing. As such, they think their primary job is to accost innocent citizens, demand their "papers" and arrest or pummel them if they fail to comply instantly. Our marvelous courts have ruled that the cops can lie at will to citizens, and have no legal obligation to protect citizens, and given them immunity if they abuse or violate the RIGHTS of citizens. Another, more insidious aspect of today's policing is that they have complete disdain, if not pure hatred, for the LAW and for the RIGHTS (see Bill of Rights, U.S. Constitution) of USA Citizens.

Just because a cop can verbally articulate very well the absolute nonsense law he's trying to violate somebody's constitutionally protected rights for, absolutely does not mean that it was REASONABLE articulable suspicion of an actual crime.

Back in the 70's in Detroit, Mi the cops back then knew everyone from the kids to the senoirs and we knew them by name also. They interacted with the community. One of the reasons were they lived in the city they served in.
