I'm pretty good with tech and figuring things out but I've been struggling with this. Thank you so much for helping me get this done!! 👍

Great video! Tech info for non-tech people. Thank you.
I went through your video for the second time for my second backup download and wrote down the steps to make it easier to follow next time. That is one small improvement that you might consider - a step-by-step written instruction to accompany your excellent video. Thank you again! This is great and just what we need.

Thanks for this a ton, homie! I have 40GB worth of data in Drive (NOT INCLUDING GOOGLE PHOTOS lol), but I have been wanting to create a local offline backup on a 2TB external HDD that I just bought. This helped me figure it out.

It's truly funny and ironic that I have been using Windows since the 90s (started with 3.1), building custom rigs since I was 8, and yet I couldn't figure this out 🙃

Congrats for your post. My issue is a lettle bit different. I want to download a shared drive with 1500 files. I'm trying to avoid select the whole fil with Shift enter. I was looking for a single command to select all files or mark a shared drive

Hi. I've been trying to download a Google Drive (on Microsoft Edge browser) folder of 6000 screenshots from my phone (4.71gb) onto my computer. After zipping the folder, it seemed to split the folder into 3 zip folders that started downloading separately but at the same time (I don't know if this is supposed to happen or not). The 2nd folder was downloading faster than the other 2 and I assumed that once it downloaded, then the others would go quicker.

The 2nd folder was well over halfway done and the other two folders were just under halfway done when they all suddenly failed with a message "Couldn't download - Network issue". I tried restarting them one by one but they barely last a minute before failing again.

Do you know what I should do?

Is there a way to do this with drive folders you do not have ownership to (shared folders)?

Hello - I am sure this is a stupid question, but when we got through this process, does it retain the files on Google drive and just make a copy for the download/export? I don't want to remove them, I'm just trying to make a physical copy for safety purposes (I have over 512 GBs in my Google Drive). thank you so much!

Hello Anson! My name is Alec! My google account is going to be removed soon, and I have a ton of collaborative work on the Shared Drives folders that I want to download to my main PC, but Google takeout seems like it only exports things listed in "My Drive". Do you have any solutions for how to download it all?
