Thank you so much for sharing these! I am sure everyone has many of their own favorites not mentioned in this list - but I did want to mention one item about public libraries. Some public libraries have genealogy-focused sections on their websites which will allow patrons to use many paid services for free. So if one has a library card (or patron number), using a public library online is another good freebie.

Thank you for the web sites! I have run across quite a few of these already, but there are 10 on your list I plan to check out to see if they can offer me any new information.

I am here because I don’t want to pay to find my family since I don’t have money and because when I search on the internet, I find nothing because my family name is rare/uncommon.

It would be very helpful if you would specify which websites are only for USA

First let me thank you for all you share with us, such a great job Connie. Can you advise me where I might find old records for Syria, and Lebanon having a real hard time with this search.

Can you do a video on each one of these websites on how to use them pleases?

Another great video! Thanks for sharing all of these websites. I’ve been doing this on and off since I was in high school. My interest was peaked after doing a family history project as a Junior. My Dad, RIP, also dabbled in genealogy, actually traveling to different states and countries. Unfortunately, that was much more difficult than just logging in to a computer. He would be flabbergasted at what I’ve found since he’s been gone! I think these sites will help me get through a couple of brick walls.

Do you have a video on what to do if you find an error in Family Search, on a person’s name, a wrong document, or a wrong person connected to your tree? I’ve begun using Family Search more and have run into quite a few errors, even spouses that don’t exist. It seems some people will connect a person without and documentation; VERY frustrating!

Genealogy Societies are free and you don't have to become a member. Just sign in so that they keep their nonprofit open and available. It's an in person thing that has free genealogy help with Free access to websites as long as you use their computers. It does cost to print just like the public library does.

It’s the first cold day of the season...how did you know I was binge-watching?? 😂 I like to go back and review a bunch of videos to prep my brain for the upcoming days when I can binge-compute my genealogy! Woohoo! Thanks for this list. I was not familiar with many of them. You’re awesome! 🤓

I'm having a hard time. I'm Irish, Scottish, Portuguese, German, Russian, Turkish, Native American... My Mothers side is Irish Scottish, Portuguese. My father's side is German, Russian, Turkish, Native American. Last names: grandmas's moms at birth - McKenzie, my father's mom - Vess, another name from father's side Shuttleworth. one from my moms mother's side - Laforge. If anybody is willing to help me for free please let me know. My father's side has a german Nazi that faught against germany, moved to England and changed his last name. my father's mother is the only person so far who knew what his original identity was but she took this information with her to the grave. i also might be brittish from my father's side. So far our research has indicated we might be of royal blood. My father, i has been working together but we've hit a wall. Please help
UPDATE: I have a Uncle with the last name O'Dell. Well he's my grandmother's half brother but she adopted me so my grandma is also my mom. Plus she sort of took care of him like a mother. Thier mother is still alive btw

Where can I find files for divorce? My father-in-law was married once before but I can't find the date for their divorce. I have been told they got a divorce sometime in 1960 because he got married to his second wife in January 1961. I heard that the marriage was pretty bad and family members had some kind of connections to people that helped getting the divorce done quickly. Where can I go to find information? Thank you in advance.

My great Grandma on my moms side is a Scottish McKenzie. Does that mean i'm part of the Mackenzie Family/Clan?
