I am Deployed in Djibouti Africa and my M9 overheated the other day. So I had my M9 powered on but in sleep mode of course. Had Wi-Fi off and mobile data off. Went to use the phone and it wouldn't wake up. Figured it was the heat out here being the hottest place in the world. Took it into the shop and placed it by the AC and sure enough after a few worried minutes it powered up.

If you want to try a good Thermal test, run Dead Trigger 2 for 15 minutes on each device with the "Ultra High" settings.  That should heat them up pretty good.

It's kind of funny that the M9 finished the tests faster on 3 of the 4, but it had a lower score. That's why I don't rely on bench tests.

This was a great test. Can you please do the same test or a similar test but this time with the charger connected. i have noticed the s6 and the s6 edge to get so hot you cant touch it while your charging it and have the phone on speaker phone waiting on hold for customer service.

Your comments on heat is really off. Heat dispersion just mean it is more uniformed. Metal is a conductor of heat, glass is an insulators. So you will feel a metal phone heat more but it will cool faster. The internal temperature is more important then the external temperature. Because when you have an insulator the out temperature is much cool then the internal temperature.

Try high performance mode in developer options after putting them in a fridge for a while.

Any idea why my Samsung galaxy s6 would overheat so much? I literally just got it TODAY so there is barely any info on the phone just music and a couple basic apps. Should I be concerned? It's quite noticeably hot to the touch

OMG people 6 degree of a temp difference u wont even notice it like and so what 90 vs 82 so what like, it thesent mean that samsung is better then HTC one M9 because its 6 degree colder. lets think about all the LED problems Samsung galaxy S6 are have people got the S6 with the LED constantly on. and some got there perfect S6 with a scratched screen. now i think the LED and scratch fuck up with S6 is bit more worrying then a 6 degree Temperature difference on the HTC one M9. smoke that Samsung :)

The test is not valid as you stopped running the benchmarks at the same time and took the reading at different times.

I think it took longer for the s6 because it has 8 cores..

You made a mistake... You had the phones on a 72 degree COOLING board and did a temp test. Guess you wouldn't redo test from a stand, lol.
