Can water get in through the hydrate tube hose hole right in top of the bag?

Cool backpack. I love some the the things Mountain Smith makes. I also like the blue and grey color of the pack. Well done.

does the rear laptop pocket have a pass through for a water bladder hose?

This is a very nice backpack for sure. Got one for Christmas and use it for my daily EDC to and from work and various things. Super simple and straight forward for sure, Mountainsmith even claims on there website that this is a 90's inspired bag. Not crazy innovative for sure, but it is built well and should last for years.

Thanks for the very thorough review. I certainly don't NEED another backpack, but I saw this on Sierra Trading Post and it looked like a great deal. Just ordered one after watching! I do like this "new" family of Mountainsmith Heritage packs. I have two of the Grand Tour and one of the World Cup and have used the GT a LOT lately.

Have you ever considered buying a drone, a dji mavic pro can become compact and shoots at 4K. That would add some very interesting shots

Awesome backpack. I got like 30 backpack 'cause I LOVE backpacks. Especially if they have a good amount of pockets. I also like to be very organized. Now I'm gonna have 31 backpacks. I don't like the yellow on the inside but that's just nitpicking.

Probably mentioned somewhere already, but that side pocket - you put a phone in there and drop that pack on the ground, your phone is smacking the ground too. iPad safe in that pouch, iPhone not in the pocket. That said - good review brother.

So I just have one question. Should I buy the TOPS silent hero or the ESEE 6?... I have been trying to decide now for a few days but they both seem awesome

Uhhh don't put passports in an easily pickpocked exterior pocket. Dude all the red flags do not do that!

There's already dislikes and it's only been out 3 minutes

So it's a “game changer ” what on earth , lot's & lot's of backpacks have padded laptop sleeves ( yes sleeves like you describe even on this channel ), what ?

This pack is kind of a yawn. It reminds me of a GR1 obviously way cheaper and more civilian oriented. I have a Rucker simply for training but if I was plane traveling this pack might be good because it doesn’t stick out as “tactical”

It seems like a quality bag but I do not see anything new or innovative.
