Good way to get the kids into the hobby. I'm 18, but I wish I was 13 again. God, how RCs have evolved. The latest models from WPL on amazon have a 260 motor and new gearbox. The new transmission setup is better than the old setup in my opinion.

These can actually be really good little trucks. Wpl sells them in an all metal kit version. You use your own electronics. It comes with a two speed trans, shift servo, and steering servo. There's about a billion parts available for it from wpl, on eBay, Amazon, and so- on. I've got all steel machined gears in mine, axles too. I use a Redcat 390 motor, H.W. 1060 esc and a 2 channel HPI radio set. They can be a lot of fun and rugged if done right.

With some mods and upgrades they are really capable. Liang RC makes an ESC tray so a Hobbywing 1080 ESC fits right in and totally changes the truck. He makes other cool parts for them also.

Being able to enjoy this hobby with your son is a great thing. My three year old son is surprisingly patient when using my custom mini crawlers. Love involving my son with the hobby. Great video man!

Ive seen some pretty impressive belly dragger builds from the WPLs. I have the C14 body on my utb18 with a mini stagedive chassis. With a Fusion mini 16, this is my favorite rig at the moment.

I like Axel's "assist" method. 😂 There's a ton of aftermarket support for these things and they can make some REALLY cool crawlers with the right amount of work.

I have the same truck with metal axles, links and 2 speed tranny. Injora bead locks and tires. Unstoppable. Many upgrades for this truck. Would like to see a video of you upgrading. It's great seeing you and your son enjoying the sport together. Keep the videos coming.

I have 3difrent wpl models lots of upgrades out there for them the 6x6 are fun that they have as well even have sound boards you can get. Love seeing the fun you two have together nice thing to share with your son
