I've used the method you demonstrate here for years, and it's fine, but I recommend putting your cleaning fluid into a spray bottle and spraying the brush with it before cleaning the record. Applying the drops directly to the brush gives you spotty coverage. It's okay, but I like spraying a lot better. Also, I don't really like applying pressure with the record on the turntable, so I prefer doing it on some other surface. I put a sturdy, cardboard record mailer on the sofa, then put a mofi inner sleeve, or even a jacket storage sleeve, on top of that. Finally, place the record on top of that. Now, you're ready to clean. You can now apply as pressure as you feel is necessary without worrying about doing something to your record platter. I like how you used the anti-static brush after cleaning. It looks like it would give you that extra step of cleaning. I'm going to have to try that.

It's been a while since this video was released, but one major suggestion I can give to you and those looking to clean your records is to look into the GrooveWasher. Basically, it is a very good replica of the RCA Discwasher brush from the 70's and 80's with a solution that is the exact recipe as the fluid used for that old brush. I have been using this thing since November and honestly, it works wonders with cleaning your records. Heck, the day I typed this I saved a new record I got from serious static because of a bad inner sleeve thanks to it. Went from having massive noise to none after a few cleans.

Thanks for this video. I'm 61 years old and my method of cleaning is different from, but similar to yours. I still have my original Discwasher from the 80s when I was in college. (CAVEAT: I am NOT an "audiophile." I listen to music to enjoy it. I am not offended by hearing a pop or scratch every now and then or by not hearing the highest frequency of a high hat cymbal.) This is my procedure every time I bring home a new (really it's usually used) record. I have an LP sleeve-sized piece of cardboard covered with a towel that I can remove and replace easily. I lay the record on the towel and spray it with a 70% isopropyl alcohol solution I get at the Dollar Tree for a buck in a spray bottle. Then I use the Discwasher to clean the record. I flip the record over and repeat the process. I haven't cleaned my records on my turntable in years, because I've accidentally pressed too hard and damaged them. This is easy, cheap, and, most importantly, effective. If you do this EVERY time you bring home an LP and store your LPs properly, you shouldn't have to do it every time you play your record(s). In between cleanings I use a toothbrush to clean the Discwasher and, depending how dirty it gets, I replace the dirty towel with a clean one.

I use the Discwasher system (I've been using it for years; ever since the D3 fluid has been around). A less expensive way to dry the record is to give it a good spin on the platter of the turntable (after cleaning, turntable OFF) and fan it with an empty record jacket until the platter comes to rest. Then use the anti-static brush again to remove any dust from the previous step. Works for me. Kudos, Viny Eyzz for taking the time to help the uninitiated who might think that most things are indestructible, like "grabbing" non-scratched media from the CLOUD. The consequences of how records are handled becomes evident when they are played, like a "history lesson".

I'd take some vegetable oil and rub my fingers perpendicular to the grooves. I'd also be sure to get my finger nails in there too. Be aware this only applies to Nicki Minaj records.

I'd suggest to incorporate Dyson suction into any vinyl cleaning procedure.
Use the narrow attachment and placing a thin cloth (I use a small spectacle cleaning cloth) attach it firmly by using a sturdy elastic band to cover the narrow hole of this attachment.
Then literally hoover the disc but carefully. The cloth will prevent scratch/other damage to the disc. Always apply the suction when disc is totally dry.
Dust and other muck sucked from the grooves will collect on the cloth which can then be cleaned, dried and reused.

I miss the old days when stores had record-cleaning machines. Put your record in, drop a dime in the slot, and the whole thing was scrubbed clean in a minute or so. Those did a better job than any at-home cleaning method. Haven’t seen one of those since the ‘70s, I don’t think.

I've read that with the wooden brush - you are supposed to use one side for wet cleaning, then turn it over to the dry side to finish the cleaning. If a record is dirty enough, you may even have to hit it with the D4 and a microfiber towel before you move to either brush. Just a tip!

The RCA discwasher rules! Cleans my records very well, works like a charm! Noticed they’ve gotten expensive, but I got mine at my local record store for 10 bucks!

I started using the non ammonia foaming spray window cleaner, with lintfree cloth, along with the dry brush method between those cleanings a few years ago.  Never been better or cleaner records.  Very happy with this.
