I love hearing homeschool origin stories! I’d never even heard of homeschoolers until I met my husband when we were 14. We met at church & I was obsessed with the life it created for him. He got to do school, work a job, play sports, hang out, play Halo, etc. all in a day! Meanwhile I had to quit softball to work a job that didn’t require me to work fast food very late into the night. I knew then that I would homeschool my future kids (not knowing he’d be their dad because we didn’t even start dating for another year).

When asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, tiny me always said I'd like to read books for a living, or work with books in some way. Thanks to the pandemic I decided to homeschool and now my life is full of books and now I can't imagine our lives as non-homeschoolers. Life is funny that way.
