I love that you never downplay the strengths or viability of characters that are considered lower tier. Most of my favorite characters are closer to the bottom of all the rankings, so hearing you highlight their strengths and advantages is really refreshing. 10/10 video as always.

I think K. Rool is the most fully realized character on the roster. Everything from the moveset to the references, to even small tweaks to his character model like the torn cape bring out so much character and personality. I played him for 5 years straight and hope he's a mainstay for the series

15:31 K Rool's upsmash spike is one of my favorite easter eggs in the game. Only comes out for like 1 frame. My buddy hit me with it totally on accident once and we were speachless for like 30 seconds.

Finally, something actually hype! I freaking love watching and playing K. Rool in Smash and this video goes over the strengths and flaws of this character (who sadly doesn't get the best rep in higher levels of play because of them). K. Rool plays 1:1 like his boss outings with a few new tricks and some of the funniest animation frames and moves in the whole game which define the amount of soul put into his design that I wish other veterans got a fraction of. High level K. Rool players are the ones I have the most respect for due to them pushing him despite his state.

One thing I wish was better handled in his imo amazing design is crown as an item and the pickup lag. Imagine being able to cancel the animation in progress, that could make you zoom with pivots and have more options compared to being screwed for a bit by a design choice, I'd keep it for the animation frames and tech bcz removing tech imo hurts design.

Fun fact on neutral special theres a small window where K. Rool can drop through a platform while the move is ending and it looks funny.

At ~ 8:30, you mention that K.Rool's head, feet, and back are vulnerable during Gut Check. He actually has full-body invulnerability during frames 4-15 when the counter is not activated. It seems inconsequential but I've had opponent's attacks whiff the belly but go through the intangible parts relatively often. And that seems good but a lot of characters can still punish after whiffing through the intangibility.

I've been playing this game since release and just now I'm learning you can turn Krool's counter around after hit. Amazing video and series! definitely keep up the heavies as well, its refreshing to see more non meta and underrepresented characters get these types of resources to learn from.

Oh hell yeah, the character i have been waiting years for.

Although i wish they gave him more tools to work with, i love playing K. Rool in this game so much, especially when the set ups work.

He can do well in certain MUs especially against high and top tier characters.

Fun Fact about K. Rool in this game:
Most people think that he has 2 spikes but he actually has 3. His down-air, back-air, and his up-smash.
As illustrated (by coincidence but not mentioned at 15:33 in this video) his up-smash has a second hit box when K. Rool starts to fall onto the plank position. The hitbox is his face. If the opponent is in the air and gets hit by this hit box, the opponent will get spiked. This option is typically never considered as it is extraordinarily conditional but it is still fun to know and have nonetheless.

Don’t forget how important smooth RAR’s are for playing K Rool at peak performance. So many of your confirms rely on back air and being able to hit that reliably is so important.

I was a good (not great) K Rool main for a long while, but I felt like I hit a ceiling with him. Then I tightened up my RAR’s and it unlocked an entire new level of K Rool nonsense.

TLDR; if you wanna play K Rool well, practice your RAR’s in as many scenarios as you can.

A short hop forwards or backwards can be useful to include when throwing the krown sometimes to either get more coverage or make throwing it slightly safer. Kindof like how link does with his boomerang

I would love to see a king dedede Art of, I know you did a smash 4 one but Dedede mixup and ledge traps have evolved so much. To show this world true royal perfection ledge set ups

This was the one I was waiting for, I'm not a competitive player but I've been using K.Rool since the release of Ultimate and like you said he's a big combo sponge, but he's very fun to play, plus its funny for me because whenever I play people in arena's they always switch to characters that either reflect or outspeed K.Rool so its crazy how I'm in an arena with a bunch of sweaty players but somehow I the casual is the biggest threat
