Get you some Donut merch!

Nissan is responsible making many of us fall in love with cars! Their heritage dates back to Datsun and their Datsun 510 sedan and pickup truck. Then we got the Skyline and the Silvia, and from there the rest is history. Nissan went on to dominate race circuits with the Skyline GT-R in all its variants, Gran Turismo made the Calsonic R32 GT-R famous on screens all over the world. Aside from the GT-R Nissan also gave us the 240Z, 280Z, the now infamous 350Z and it’s son the 370Z. And in the drift world Nissan continues to dominate with the S13, S14, and S15. With such an impressive line-up and rich history how exactly has Nissan managed to find itself in the hole? Why is the company on the brink of catastrophe and will Nissan be able to save its impressive heritage?

WheelHouse answers all the questions about the automotive world you never thought to ask. Nolan Sykes looks at the history, sociology and psychology behind the cars you love, and the features you might overlook.

Some of our best videos ever are coming out soon, stay tuned so you won't miss a thing!

So Carlos Ghosn was on probation awaiting trial later this year, until he ESCAPED TOKYO BY BULLET TRAIN AND FLEW TO LEBANON. He’ll be holding a press conference on Wednesday to “explain his side of the story.”

nissan just needs to do what dodge does with the hellcat and just stick a R35 engine into everything

Edit: Everybody seems to think Im serious, guys I know the R35 Gtrs engine is hand built and cost a fortune. I also agree when you guys say use the VQ in everything.

What I'm afraid of is if they bring back fan favorites they'll be bringing them back as an SUV.

Subaru: Still going strong
Toyota: Weird Crossovers but still has the spirit.
Nissan: Even weirder crossovers and slowly losing the spirit.
Mazda: Completely Kills their sports car. (Meanwhile Miata is trying to convince others that it can replace the Rotary bros)
Honda: They make it simple.
Mitsubishi: Lets thier legacy become a joke.

Nissan's quality is indeed going downhill, almost all their 2011-2019 cars are cheaply made, to the extent that you may think "shit, is this a korean car".. surprisingly on the other side, Korean cars are progressing so well. Koreans even managed to capture a major share from the Japanese automakers. Electric affordable cars I think will save Nissan.

And the biggest problem of them all :
The leaders are not car enthusiasts.

That’s the most pathetic thing. Almost all car companies in my country.

Had them as a client a few years back doing their advertising and I can confirm that even they are confused at what their soul is and haven't found their audience. They are trying to cater to everyone with one car per audience, each with its own personality, making their whole lineup inconsistant and bland while betting wayyy too much on (soulless but high volume) crossovers, a new "design language" and force-claiming they're a premium brand. Was super frustrating at the time, most people over there looked like they were more into playing politics and protecting their job than actually benefiting the brand. And it's sad cause they do have some things going for them when you look at the GT-R, 370Z or their brand history...
