I’ve been working with 4K footage more and more over the last year and it’s been dreadful with the computers I’ve been using. After a recent project finished, I decided enough was enough with impossible playbacks on timelines and long exports.

Finding this video has been a game changer. I never did a build before so I wasn’t sure how it would go. But it seemed like building a computer that could handle 4K footage was the way to go. After a few weeks of researching different builds, I chose to go with Max on this one. As a video editor, it was the best decision I’ve made all year.

This project cost more than $638 because I decided to do a couple of upgrades (Max’s alternative suggestions), plus I needed a 4K monitor.

Overall, I'm very happy with the build and highly recommend this video.

After I post this comment, I’m going to go contribute to Max’s Patreon. I suggest others do the same!

Thank you, Max!

It was my first time building a PC, I watched your video step by step while building with materials you provided links for, (minus the GPU) and it works great. Thank you for the guidance!

thank you sir,

Today i finally decided to quit the Apple eco-system and to go back into the PC route. I was finally fed up with the outrages prices that Apple charges and this video just further encouraged me to finally break out and build my own PC. I will be building this exact build you put out and i used the amazon links to buy the parts. Thank you so much for these videos, i will keep this post updated once i complete the build. even though the price says $638 Ryzen build. it came up to about $1200 Canadian. God damn our currency is doing so shit right now. Either way, it beats paying $4000 for a Mac Pro

I know that this has been up a while but I just wanted to say a massive thank you. I'm looking to get back into editing after about 15 years away and PCs builds have changed since I last did one! I've watched you're videos, looked at your part lists and got something of a hybrid between this and 'the beast.' Ryzen 7 1700, 6gb graphics card etc....
Anyway, I've just put it together and it started first time! Widows is installed and I'm just tweaking my gpu and mobo. It was all relatively problem free and that was down to you. Thank you once again!

Thanks for build. I needed a pc upgrade. My first personal build and it went smoothly with your step by step. Loving the difference from my last pc. Resole and Premiere running flawlessly. Prices were higher but worth it.

Excelent video! Way more easy to understand than those made on tech related channels! Same with the rest of your videos, always good content and easy to dig! Cheers from Venezuela!

What I liked the most about the motherboard was the large amount of PCIe connections - 5!

If you want to align the AMD logo so it looks neat, there are 4 screws at the top you can unscrew and rotate the upper part of the cooler (the part with the logo), then screw it again and you have your logo facing the way you want.
