You need redstone blocks for this to work.
Third one does not work on bedrock edition!

Issue is that two of the options are prone to failure.

it's a waste of time for people that want to have a railway system that goes back and forth, not to mention that using portals are the trend rn (edit: Speaking of which, making a railway system in the nether seems pretty good. Just be mindful of all those pesky ghasts by making an enclosed space)

Another thing to add, if anyone wants to build a railway system in survival either way make sure to build it above ground so mobs don't get in the way
