What’s Really Behind Elon Musk’s Twitter Chaos

Will Elon Musk finally be what kills Twitter? For years, the social network has been an extremely popular center for news and public conversation. But it’s been in a chaotic transition phase since Tesla CEO Elon Musk completed his purchase of the company. Elon’s transition to Twitter CEO has come with immediate changes, like mass employee layoffs and new features designed to monetize the platform. But changes like this one fundamentally alter Twitter’s landscape. The current state of Twitter is evidence of an irresolvable tension at the heart of the internet: the desire for openness and free speech coming up against the demands of shareholders and profitability.

I'm still mad on how he made a post claiming his son died im his arms when the child's mother came on and clarified that the babe was put on life support in the hospital and SHE was the one with him when he passed

Love how Eli Lilly's response was bascially "Insulin will never be free, you're an idiot for ever thinking it would"

The idea that a billionaire would take over a social media platform and then be a perfect arbiter of free speech while not allowing their own interests or ego to conflict with "absolute free-speech" is laughable. It's not just Musk's sensitivity to being mocked on the platform that's concerning. His willingness to play ball and do deals with entities like the government of China and Russia should be incredibly concerning even for right-wingers that think he's owning the libs.

We all (and especially Elon) have to remember that freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences.

I often find that it's not the platform that's bad, it's the people behind the screens that are idiots.

He's losing as much money as Elizabeth Holmes: *Every Month Of This YEAR*

I still believe this all stemmed from when he made that tweet about hating pronouns and his own wife called him out for it. After that, he's basically in a constant outrage and meltdown.

People like Elon Musk aren't after "success". He's done it all, been to the mountain top and acquired all the wealth money could buy. This is just how billionaires live their lives. It's all a game, a show they create to make their lives exciting as we watch from the sidelines. These people crave stimulus more than they crave to fix things or make any part of this world better.

Honestly. I love the chaos that twitter is bringing. They’ve all said social media is a dangerous place and has affected our youth and the way of the media. Now this guy comes in and is doing this? Idc how it ends. Whether he reforms it or burns it to the ground. It’s fine by me

Elon preaching freedom of speech while banning accounts for making fun of him is peak irony 🤣

He's really deluded himself (and his "fans") into thinking that he's some misunderstood genius. While lying about having a bsc in physics and a master's degree in materials science

Twitter employees should unite and create another social media platform to compete with Twitter

This is why I deleted my Twitter. I was barely on it anyway. Instagram is dying as well.

Imagine, being on earth once, exploring this journey called life. And you make Twitter its focal point. Twitter, an app on the apple store your life motivation.

"Tumblr is having the night of their life!"
I have seen variations of this joke on Tumblr.

Just so you know the brief shot you included of two men holding boxes on the street, were not former Twitter employees. They were just two guys who wanted to get on TV and made up the fact that they had been fired from Twitter and some news channels ran with it without verifying the information. Look up the names they gave themselves and you will see.

This isn't meant as a degrading comment, but does anyone else miss when this channel used to post more film and television content. I feel like there's been an increase in quantity, but not the great film content that they used to make. I get people and channels evolve though.

Tumblr is, indeed, having a blast here.

It's just coming out that *Established Titles is a scam*
The Take did some promos with them (sponsors help pay the bills, so I get it) but I hope they are aware.

Is it still schadenfreude if the person is a billionaire who probably won't even notice the effects of his mistakes?

This video has framed Elon Musk and Twitter and continued users as the “bad guy” and old employees and the corporations that left as “the righteous”. Not a good or accurate take.
