1) Define what a logical statement is
2) Recognize examples as logical statements or not logical statements
3) Use the symbols for "not", "and", and "or".

By the way, tip about the OR operation: the word "or" in speech is often equivalent to an operation called the exclusive OR (true if one or the other is true, but not both), like in "Your money or your life". The logical OR is sometimes made more explicit in ambiguous scenarios with "and/or", as in "Violation of the copyright may be punished with a fine and/or jail time."

Regular sentences are now ruined with math! (jk I use those a lot in programming)

Super intimidated by this all so far, seems to be alot of laying groundwork before getting into anything practical, hope it all starts to come together soon.

From someone who struggles to understand mathematical concepts, this made perfect sense! Thank you for breaking it down like this, and without drawing it out to the point I lose it again!😊

Wow! Cool board. 😁I haven't touched Mathematics for about 12 years. I'm going to study a PGCE in Mathematics, so this is a good refresher. My brain 🧠🤯forgot all this stuff. Such simple, clear and short explanations. Thank you.

your videos are gems! thank you very much for this great work :) I tried an online Edx course where the teacher tried to explain these statements but for me, it was difficult to follow him, and left the course. After finishing this course (videos series) I would take the Edx course again and I think I could understand it better.

Is noone else noticing how fluidly Dr. Bazett can write backwards? That is the most impressive thing I swear.

for the last example of conjunction for the color of the shirt and short. Would it also be correct to write q ' : " my shorts are any other color besides grey" ? and so then the compound statement becomes p ^ q .
