I remember you building the first one and the thumbnail of this is great. I am a little jealous.

It was actually your original PC build episodes that got me really interested in PC gaming and building. Now I've built my own beast of a machine and love it.

As far as the 970 goes, a 980 is only a little better for much higher price. The GTX 970 and the R9 390 are the kings of price/performance and both do extremely well at 1080p.

Make sure you overclock that CPU. You can easily get 4.5GHz with the Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO. I got my 4690k to 4.7GHz with my Cryorig H7, and it's very similar to the 212, just a little quieter fan and smaller heatsink.

I look forward to your videos. Always one of my favorite LPer's with your playthroughs.

I wasn't around on your channel when you were building the first one, so this was an interesting video/experience! I've always been interested in the idea of custom building a PC, but have zero experience with that sort of thing. I usually consider myself fairly tech savvy, but like 60% of the stuff talked about here was gibberish to me. :P I guess that's more of a software vs. hardware knowledge based thing.

Either way, I'll be watching the future installments and hopefully pick up some basics!

It's cool after watching so many of your series to put a face to the name! Can't wait till the channel is back up and running again! :D

I remember the last PC build series and how you had to edit and re-upload one of the parts. I know the secret. *Evil laugh*
But for real, I cant wait to see all of these.

Lol, this is the best unboxing video just because of the bulge joke. :D

On a more serious note, I'm seriously thinking about building my 4th PC myself. Previously, I would just get the parts and ask the shop to build it for me. But I think it's about time I learn a thing or two more about hardware. So I will use this video series as a reference guide. I've yet to watch the second and third video, but since they 3 hours long, I would assume everything was explained in great detail.

I have a question. I know that DDR4 is a fairly new standard, and I've been a bit out of the loop when it comes to new tech. How much of a performance boost do you get from it? I would assume that someone who edits videos would appreciate fast RAM like this, but I'm thinking it terms of games and everyday use. Just asking so I know what kind of performance gains to expect from it.

I've been absent from this channel for a little while now. I don't remember you ever showing you face before. Not sure what i was expecting, i've only associated you name with a tanooki mario. Anyway, the rig looks awesome from a spec perspective as ii havent seen the video yet. I'm using a EVGA 780 and it's beginning to slow down on me. Or recent games are way more demanding. Proably the second opation.

Probably could've gone with a different PSU. The Corsair CX series is pretty mediocre. Corsair RM series or another manufacturer would've been better. And maybe an AMD R9 390 instead of 970 but that's more of a nitpicking. Looks like a nice build with a lot of thought into what you wanted though!

Was it really cheaper to get 2x2TB HDDs over 1x4TB or do you plan to RAID them or something?

You skipped the cruicial step of collecting your parts! First you gotta get the viewpoint to see where all your parts are on the map. Where's the footage of you climbing your house and cowering on the roof before plunging into a heystack? Where's the clips of you ambushing and stabbing couriers? Boooo! You gotta show the whole process...
On a side note: did you heavily upscale the footage? Because this blurry mess is not what 1080p should look like, even with shitty lighting and high ISO.
