About 4 yrs ago, I bought a 10" pot with 2 variegated scheffleras on clearance for $5. When I unpotted, it was full of big brown bugs and worms so I removed all of the soil, cleaned the roots, , potted in a new pot with new soil and applied a systemic. They struggled and eventually, I cut them and rooted in water. Only one lived and it is now 4 ft tall, very gorgeous plant.

Oh yes!! I love Lowes plant clearance section. I have quite a few "rescue" plants from their sick plant section that are now flourishing in our garden!

Very good video! I've been bargain hunting at Lowe's for years. If you know how to look and shop; many great deals can be bought there, as you point out. Two weeks ago I bought a three gallon Philodendron Prince of Orange for $11. After repotting and dividing it Monday, I now have a 3 gallon plant and two 1 gallon plants!!! I love your channel, especially since you are the one who introduced me to Ecuagenera which is only 14 miles down the road from me! Now I will face financial ruin as a result. LOL! Hey Queen! I'm one of the smart ones, as yourself. It's just a matter of picking that rescue that you know has a good chance. I've been doing that and I still do. I've gotten many that way. And what's great is you really get to know that plant whether it's a baby size or a rescue plant. What you learn from that plant is not just for that plant but others too where applicable. I’ve purchased clearance plants from Lowe’s mainly for the pot lol! If the plant is looking good then that’s a bonus. Nice purchased and that begonia look amazing. Great job Peggy!

Thats what I always do when I go to Lowes. Go straight on clearance🤗 even my husband race before me🤣🤣🤣. Its saves him money and I get my plants👍. Walmart is hit or missed in my area. But they are always cheaper compare to garden centers.

I always check the clearance area... I found a Costa Farms Trending Tropicals Shingle Plant (Rhaphidophora hayi) in the ceramic pot for $5.00!!! because one of the plants had broken... I cut it off, rerooted it and now have 3 plants!! I often find orchids there also just because they are no longer in bloom, the plant is healthy! You can find lots of yard plants also just because they are starting to die back for the season but they will come back next year. I've even taken some really sad plants and asked for a deeper discount (sometimes only $1-3.00) just to get the nice pots... the sales woman said they just throw them away!!!

Just found you who is a woman after my own heart. You do great work with those poor plants and apparently they are thrilled to get a second chance! I also begin my shopping on the discount carts. It is amazing at what you can find.

THANK YOU for doing an episode on the bargain basement! I hate to admit it, but anytime I have time and I’m traveling through a different town, I find the Lowe’s store and head straight for the clearance rack. I’ve found some neat plants that way and rescued some who needed TLC. Btw, GOOD LUCK with the variegated ficus triangularis. My luck was not so great x2….
