As a person who works at Lowe’s - it really depends on your location. I bought a philodendron gloriosum for 8$ once and just the other day I bought a HUGE philodendron fuzzy petiole for 16$ (it was originally 40 but was sad so 50% plus my employee discount). Though, working there really helps with knowing all the cool stuff we get in stock. Literally 24 hours after I bought my gloriosum they were all gone because people would come through and buy 10+ at a time. Be careful for bugs and rot because it’s really common (at least in both lowes near me). Also, we can’t control the prices of the products lmao everything is ridiculously priced rn, myself and my fellow associates get yelled at every day for prices which we cannot control. Our clearance prices are posted but 15$ and up is half off, everything below is grouped together to one price (5-9$ down to 4, 2-4$ down to 2$, etc). Also, houseplants for whatever reason tend to get less interesting (aka just the usual stuff they get every time) in summer but pick back up in fall when the outside selection gets slim. Peak houseplant season is early spring and late fall. :) I hope this helps

I went in lowes a week ago and saw them slap down a fiddleleaf on the clearence rack. Big girl came home with me. Only $10! Shes got a faux whiskey barrel pot, fresh soil, and bit of mulch on top now. So pretty AND putting out a new leaf already 😭❤

If I'm not mistaken... Bat nuts are edible when cooked. I used to eat them all the time as a kid in Hong Kong.

I am the plant dad that ONLY buys starter pots lol. Like 4 inches max, and I never spend over $30 on a plant.

I’m sure eventually I will break that rule but so far I find it fun buying tiny ones and growing them myself, it also helps you know what plants you will do well with. Before getting a huge one.

You are so right! Lowe's it is always the same old stuff! I looked for a Ponytail Palm for months and I ended up having to order it off of the internet!!! I love the air plants! 💚🪴

The cat was a nice tough at that last place 😻 Last time I went to Lowe’s, they had some really nice plants, but they were covered in bird poop! And at closer look, there were signs of spider mites and fungus gnats and thrips, oh my! 🙀

I got some snags at Home Depot in Louisville KY a week ago. Stuff I don’t see at my local HD and Lowe’s in chattanooga. It was fun coming home 4 hours with a car full of plants but I’m so excited about the finds!

I checked out Lowes just yesterday and was actually surprised by the variety they had. Picked up a Caladium lindenii and rescued a pitiful Polly but in Tn we just don’t have nursery’s that specialize in houseplants

That's how it is in my city. I have to travel very far to try to find a decent plant. I just went back to buying on line with Canopy Plants.
