In 2022 with all the new tech and all that it should be much easier than in the 1900s and 1800s to build a new canal. Preferably through Mexico now .. would cut time and traffic in half for alot of ships and countries and make it alot easier to get supplies in and out of north and south America . It would give north America especially Mexico alot of power and revenues.

But most of today's canal is built by Panama, u.s start it, But they didn't finalize it. Panama did most of the work in finishing the work.
