People not knowing about the Panama Canal shows how far our education system has dipped.

The Panama Canal Treaty specified that IF CONTROL of the Canal fell into the hands of an Enemy of the USA... then the Ownership will revert to the USA.

I can't believe people don't just realize this is Trump's way of negotiating his deals. He requests something outrageous and unattainable, so when it's worked down to something better for both sides, it looks like he moved off his spot and given ground when he he never really believed he would attain that highest ground to begin with.

That is a big BS saying that 30, 000 Americans (USA) died for the Construction of The PANAMA CANAL. .... NO WAY ! The greatest amount of decesaed where during The French Attempt of Construction with Ferdinand de Lesseps... 22, 000 + Workers died ... these where poor immigrants from Europe: France, Ireland, Italy, etc... and from French colonies Antilles ..// With the USA Construction the labor death toll was of approximately 5, 609 (Five thousand six hundred nine) : — mostly recruited from Barbados, Jamaica, and other Caribbean islands. /// USA Workers where considered Gold Roll... They did not perform dangerous work, so mostly engineers and administrators. Malaria was already controlled at this time.

I'm ecstatic with the outcome of the election and the year-end market surge. Which hidden jewels in the upcoming bull run would you buy with a 100K right now? My goal is to position myself for a prosperous Q1 in 2025.

Panama railroad that supplied all the materials to build Panama canal was built by Irish emigrants to America. 12000 workers died during the process 80 km of Railroad that transported all the raw materials to build canal itself. It's shameful what Carter did.

Let's fact check this "expert, " shall we?

1. Suggesting Carter was weak for this treaty but does not mention that the main reason was to avoid the USSRs building their own canal in Nicaragua or Panama itself. And at the same time, ensure transit fees for 20 more years. The US benefited for almost a century from this canal.
2. Vietnam war was in the 70s. The canal was finished in 1914, so.. what?
3. Around 27, 000 deaths from the canal's construction, but 90% of them were french when they tried to build it first. This is propaganda level deception.
4. The rest 5, 000 deaths were black-caribean migrants, which means the US exploited migrants for .90 cents a day and now playing the victim card as if they were american citizens. Again, deceiving AF.

I'm just like a minute in, and the lies keep coming. If you really value truth, do your own research even if it does not fit you biases.

The Canal systems that affect American trade are definitely worth studying!!! As drought and weather changes, especially by manmade interference, it becomes vital to understand the trade and political dynamics toward survival and access!!!

These guys don’t know a thing about the history of the canal or the relationship between Panama and the U.S. In fact, any Panamanian knows more about it than they do, because in school, we have a subject called "Relations Between Panama and the United States."

Ignorance #1: "Oh, thousands of Americans died." Please, it was a minority. The ones who died were mostly Chinese, Africans, Indians, Jamaicans—you name it. Do some actual studying.

Ignorance #2: "The treaty expired, so you can’t claim anything." Sure, you can negotiate fees, but that’s about it.

Ignorance #3: The U.S. paid Panama peanuts for the canal when they were running it. They raked in a ton of money, so what are they even complaining about?

My opinion: The U.S., under the Democrats, became a global laughingstock with their woke leftist agenda and insane spending. Now, Trump needs to reignite the flames of nationalism, patriotism, and protectionism, which makes sense.

Same thing happened with El Salvador and Bukele—Trump talked so much nonsense at first, but then he realized Venezuela was the real problem with all the criminals and everything else. And later, he came around.

I wouldn’t stress over the rhetoric. Words are just words, and politics is just politics.

According to hospital records, 5, 609 workers died of diseases (malaria/yellow fever) and accidents during the US construction of the canal. Of those according to available data, only a small percentage, around 5% of the workers who died building the Panama Canal were Americans, with the vast majority being laborers from the Caribbean, particularly from Barbados and Jamaica, due to the large recruitment efforts in those regions. One of your staff said around 40, 000 Americans died while in fact hospital records show around 280 Americans died. Where are you coming up with these exaggerated numbers?

More Jamaican died building the Panama canal. America funds yes but many people from other countries made up the greater human tragedy. Do your research.

PBD, you should do an episode on how American ports are inferior and cannot take in the largest container ships. While China can and are paying to upgrade and build them in other countries that can take the largest container ships.
