I can relate as can a lot of immigrant generations and south asians,

I came accross a lot of cultural Muslims, Pakistani bengali Muslims growing up, where culture gets ingrained into practices in the name of Islam.. ie daughter in laws expectations and treatment of males vs females etc.. this has had a huge negative impact on both the Ethnicity and islam, until this day this has had a bad impact and gave Muslims and south Asians a bad name..

Parents sacrificed a lot for their kids generations indeed may allah reward them.. and we benefit from their sacrifices.. yet...
There was very little understanding of the deen, only what was passed on ny forefathers! So we'll said..

Pakistanis in the UK have improved alot since the 90s. When I was a kid, the only difference between Pakistani and Hindu women was a red dot on the forehead. Now, Pakistani women in the UK generally dress similar to Arabs & Somalis. No more sari and scarf on half the head.

Agree with everything he has said and for me personally one thing that never sat right was when some elders would excuse obligatory prayer and say that deen is in your heart 🤯 worst experience ever was visiting so called religious “peer Saabs” who served no purpose other than to match make and have lavish gatherings hosted for them by those that they managed to lead astray 😢

حقا علينا ننج المؤمنين

30: 47 (Ar-Room)
"And We have made it INCUMBENT upon Us to Help the Mu'mineen".
