I always liked the Squiggle Vision because, for me, it implied nervousness and apprehension in the characters which made sense because the show is about Brendan Small as a kid. Kids are nervous about everything new in the world, and adults are nervous about all the things of the adult world. I know that's not a blanket statement, but the technique pointed to a naunced subtle emotion all the characters were feeling.

Yay!! I LOVED this show! When I was a kid if I couldn't sleep I'd sneak on Adult Swim after my parents went to bed and would watch Shin Chan and Home Movies.
